Great Books is a semester-long elective for an introduction to novels. It is designed for all grades and ability levels. Students work on comprehension and literary techniqes in novels, as well as work on creative writing and analysis of literature.
Selections may include: Fahrenheit 451, Lord of the Flies, Night, Of Mice and Men, Ishmael, Animal Farm, Hunchback of Notre Dame, Brave New World, Prince and the Pauper, Great and Expectations; as well as an independent novel form the following list: Color Purple, Staggerford, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, Deliverance, Dracula, The Ox-Bow Incident, Sula, and Separate Peace
